Background & Membership
House of Scotland is both a physical cottage and a cultural organization that has called Balboa Park, San Diego home since 1937. Our purpose is to promote the music, traditions, history, and culture of Scotland. While some people become members because either they, their spouse, or their ancestors have Scottish heritage, membership is open to anyone. If you have an interest in Scottish and/or Celtic happenings, this is the place for you! Become a member today and unlock amazing membership benefits.
After we receive your membership interest form, a representative from House of Scotland will invite you to attend a general membership meeting. General membership meetings are held once a month in Balboa Park on the second Saturday at 10:00am (see our calendar).
At a general membership meeting you will have the opportunity to meet and socialize with other members and learn more about House of Scotland. At a second general membership meeting you will be "voted in" and asked to pay $10 in membership dues.
We appreciate our members! House of Scotland hosts several volunteer appreciation events throughout the year, one of which is our popular Christmas Dinner Party in December. Upon becoming a member, you too can unlock access to these great events and much more.
Like winning prizes? At the conclusion of every general membership meeting there is a door prize raffle for everyone to enter free-of-charge. We look forward to meeting you!
