About the House of Scotland

Located in beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego, California, the House of Scotland is one of the International Cottages organized within the House of Pacific Relations to further the pursuit of "pacific" or peaceful relations among nations.

The House of Scotland is open every Sunday afternoon from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Come by for a cuppa tea and some shortbread ...

In addition to fostering Scottish culture, we serve as an information center for activities in the greater San Diego area Scottish community. There are many opportunities here to pursue your favorite endeavors:

  • Learn to play the bagpipes or drums with the House of Scotland Pipe Band.
  • Or play fiddle, flute, bodhran or most any instrument in the Cèilidh Band.
  • Learn to speak Scots Gaelic in our Gaelic class.
  • Study Scottish history and view films on Scotland.
  • Learn about and attend Scottish music events.
  • Learn Highland dancing or Scottish country dancing.
  • Research your clan ancestry.
  • Participate in our annual Scottish Lawn Program, December Nights, the San Diego Scottish Highland Games, and other events throughout the year.

Haste ye back!
